Yoga and Ayurveda are sister Vedic sciences, or two pillars, that support each other in achieving a healthy body, happy mind, clarity of intellect, free senses and a calm soul.
The origin of this relationship is said to be that a yogic master and disciple were meditating on why they still got broken bones and suffered from disease so God responded by giving them the wisdom of Ayurveda—the science of life.

[Music] now drna I would like to discuss with you uh what is the relation between yoga and AA yoga now is is available in it's practice everywhere in the world um there's all kind of method of yoga and uh and how do you see yoga and aam going together what's what's your take on that so ayurveda is one of the first Integrative Medicine uh in the planet and it has adapted or taken help of uh all the integrative medicines which was found which were existing that time the first one is Yoga then it also took the help of astr ology like uh and Etc so uh yoga is like a sister sence to ayeda and they are very complimenting to each other so it I would say that it is like the P two pillars which is so important one cannot exist without other or one is not complete without the other so it is like two pillars which can support our health and basic philosophy of both yoga and ayura is very same because because healthy body happy mind Clarity of intellect feverishness free senses and a pleasant Soul this is what health according to ayurveda is and yoga very much agree to this fact and yoga help us to achieve this and we can see that 80% of the uh of the disease nowadays is because of stress and also because of the lifestyle we have and yoga can definitely contribute to um fill this Lacuna uh what we see in the world so an integrated approach is very much the need of the art and in a is there is there one teaching of yoga that is uh that is more um more important than or or more real than than others or okay so see there are eight limbs of yoga called as Ashtanga Yoga so it is not Ashtanga Which is popular now but the eight limbs so ayurveda has mentioned all this eight limbs starting from the discipline like AMA as Asana is the posture pranayama and then danana is meditation dhana and samadi so all these eight limbs are very much important and inclusive in Ah that's where we see the the the link between the two yeah so this eight uh limbs are very much uh integrated in the treatment protocol in AA yeah and and I guess it's it's part of the vas yes it is the it's part of vas and actually speaking ayurveda the origin of ayurveda uh goes like this see when uh the the master and the disciple they were meditating they could still find that you know they had a broken limb from the improper sh shasana the headstand they were doing or they were still getting Afflicted with the disease so uh so they went to the go asking for help you know they and then it is said that out of compassion for the yogis ayurveda was given to them so you know it is to complete yoga ayurveda was given so ayurveda is very much part of a yogic life very good very interesting and and we know that now uh we can practice yoga just about anywhere on the planet and definitely AA is um is getting more and more popular all over and definitely here in Bali at one world AA thank you Dr thank you [Music]
