We鈥檙e diving deeper into the topic of yoga mats 馃檶 The question is: where do you stand on the continuum from comfort to stability?

Thick yoga mats will provide comfort but are less steady when your standing on one foot.

On the other side, thin yoga mats give you a sensation of closeness to the ground. If the floor is hard or uncomfortable, the mat won鈥檛 change that.

what thickness do you need when you're buying your first yoga mat yoga mats typically range between three and six millimeters three millimeters yoga mat will typically give you more stability when you're standing on one foot whereas six millimeters or more mats will give you more cushioning for the knees for sitting or lying down personally I like four millimeters mats because they give me the best compromise between cushioning and stability
