Eight Angle Pose

Astavakrasana

Arm balance 路 advanced

Glossary: Astavakrasana

How to

  1. Begin in a seated position with legs extended in front of you, maintaining a straight spine.
  2. Bend your right knee, placing the sole of your right foot on the floor. Cross your right foot over your left thigh, positioning it near the left knee.
  3. Thread your right arm under the bent right leg, bringing your knee high on your upper arm. Place your right hand on the floor beside your hip with fingers spread wide.
  4. Shift your weight onto your hands, lifting your hips and left leg off the ground. Cross your left ankle over your right ankle, engaging your core muscles.
  5. Extend both legs to the right, keeping them parallel to the floor, and straighten your arms as much as possible.
  6. Maintain a steady breath throughout the pose, keeping your gaze slightly forward and down to maintain balance.
  7. To exit the pose, gently lower your hips and legs back to the ground, returning to a seated position. Repeat on the other side.
