A yoga belt has 2 D-rings stitched one end. The other end is flat with no D-rings or loops. The flat end of the strap is pushed through both D-rings and then back the other way through just the first loop creating a locked loop. This is a similar mechanism to a belt or helmet strap.
So which is best for you?
A yoga strap can do everything a yoga belt does. But does not lock rigidly into place.
A yoga strap enable you to carry your yoga mat and a yoga belt does not.
BUT a yoga belt can create a closed loop which is the more common use for this tool in traditional yoga practice.
this is a yoga belt and here's how to use it this belt creates a closed loop once locked into place it won't change shape so you can use it for poses like this to help support you when things feel vulnerable
