In this video, you'll learn how to do side crow pose in 30 seconds. The side crow pose aka Parsva Bakasana is an arm balancing posture that is good for strengthening the arms and core and obviously, improving balance. This is recommended for intermediate to advanced yogis because this pose requires significant physical and mental muscle. π« πππ πΌπΎπΎπππ ππ 250+ ππππ ππππππ πΎππΌππππ βΊ Android: http://bit.ly/3lCNVAs βΊ iOS: http://apple.co/3vL2u9r Twisted Crow - Parsva Bakasana Alignment -Hands and forearms energetics like Crow. -Elbows stack over wrists. -Outer thigh presses on opposite sideβs triceps. -Twisting sideβs elbow is free (hip does not rest upon it). -Shoulders are level. -Chest extends forward. -Twist emanates from waist. -Navel to spine. -Pelvic floor lifts through crown of head. -Hips mostly stacked (top hip draws back). -Lower legβs outer thigh presses upon opposite triceps. -Knees and ankles mostly together. -Heels tuck toward buttocks. -Inner and outer ankle are even in length. -Chest and crown of head lengthen forward. Modifications: -Hip to Elbow In this variation the hip that is mean to be free rests on the elbow. This is a great variation that makes the pose more accessible for many beginners. The downside is that shoulder is less supported by strength and it tends to create a habit of sinking down in the pose. I recommend making it a short-term practice. ----Hip Tilt Tilting the top hip skyward in this variation helps create lightness in the body. Common Issues: -Elbows Bend Back Elbows remain mostly stacked over wrists. The chest must go forward to lift the back end of the body. -Thigh and Triceps Donβt Meet If you cannot get the thigh above the elbow on the triceps then the posture will be inaccessible. To gain accessibility practice deep twisting postures like Half Lord of the Fishes. -Outer Thigh Pain Some students experience pain at the point of contact where the thigh rests on the triceps.
