can women do inversions when menstruating absolutely you can do any poses you can go upside down when you are on your periods I believe this question has its roots in some ancient beliefs that some schools of yoga still teach saying that women shouldn't go upside down when they are on their periods because this would somehow reverse the energy flows in the body but this has no basis in the modern medicine so there are no medical no physical reasons why you shouldn't go upside down during your periods the gravity doesn't affect your period so for example astronauts in space can have normally their periods when there are no gravitational forces affecting their body in space so you can safely do any poses that feel comfortable in your body during your periods of course if some strong poses feel painful or uncomfortable then don't do it but that's the same whether you are on your periods or not
