Transcript

hello and welcome to Lauren's face yoga so this is a quick headstand tutorial um I do recommend practicing this against a wall just to make sure that you know you're not going to fall backwards in the beginning so first coming down onto the forearms and measuring out your forearms Distance by grabbing opposite elbow so we want our hands our elbows to be in line and then we interlace our fingers and we're going to place the top of the head down onto the mat and the fingers at the hands are going to interlace the back of the head so from here bringing the top of the head down bringing the hands onto the back of the head and then try to straighten the legs and walk the feet in towards the body now you can stay here or you can start playing with moving one knee towards the chest and when you're used to that then you can start to bring the oven in and if this feels stable you can try to start straightening the legs halfway and again if you feel stable then starting to point and toes and straighten the legs fully so you're pushing the forearms into the ground so most of the weight is actually on the forearms and not the neck and you're squeezing the feet together and pointing toes to keep the legs active and you're going to come down the same way slowly bringing the knees down in towards the chest and then lowering the feet to the mat so there's one more way where you can do this headstand which is a little bit more advanced on how you enter it takes a little bit more strength and flexibility so I'll show you this one quickly same thing measuring our arms bringing the hands together bringing the head down onto the mat cup in the back of the head and straightening the legs so from here you're going to walk the feet in as much as you can so you're on your toes you want the hip to go over the shoulders and when they do the legs should start to rise on their own really yeah again pushing into the mat with the forearms pointing the toes you're going to come down the same way that we come up so slowly and controlled starting to lower the legs down So yeah thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed it and I hope to see
