In this tutorial, Sarah Faircloth teaches the dynamic standing pose, Sugarcane or Half Moon Bow Pose (Ardha Chandra Chopasana). It's a heart opening, glute and core strengthening, backbending, balance pose—in other words—fun!

oh come on Sarah Fair clef and I'm here at Tsonga t studio be yoga in Charlotte North Carolina with Kelly Jackson Daniel and she's starting in it's an Austin but she's going to go into ardha chandrasana this is half moon sugar cane pose and if you want to have a fun sequence in a class of it you can watch the the class the advanced class with us and Kelly was in the class as well so Kelly just lift your left leg up behind you and come into ardha chandrasana from Boonton asana good from here then she just aligns just her legs and she can keep the left hand on the pelvis now bend your leg behind you and reach back and grab your foot Kelly if this is a little tricky let's show them the other way Kelly so let go and you can pull your knee into your chest and reach it down and you might not be able to grab your foot but you can grab even almost the front of the shin towards that knee and then slide your hand down so if you're tighter try that and then holding the top of your foot you can start to curl your right buttocks under really strong so this part of the butt has to go in a lot and then take your head back Kelly and the whole post she just opens it up the more she takes the tailbone this way and she takes her head back that way and then the heart opens up and you can see it's a beautiful sugarcane bow good and release back to Goodson asana take your hands to your pelvis and inhale rise thanks Kelly namaste
